Most of us have at one point struggled with understanding all the components of layer 3 architecture, such as: why do you need an IGP in addition to iBGP and eBGP? Anyone we want to join the industry will probably have to do so too, so we'll sift through auction sites for vintage books and toys to find an unlikely template: the mix & match character with swappable head, torso and legs that can stand in for some of the more esoteric concepts.

While engineers may not often focus on financial considerations, the fact is that everything costs money - rack space, people, equipment, transit, initial setup for peering, and so on. You could say all engineering decisions are financial, so come along on this journey with a fellow engineer who had to dive into the world of financial analysis, and maybe something along the way can get you started with estimating risk or making better-informed decisions on spending. A continuation of Cat Gurinsky's panel series for "Network Automation Showdowns". Cat has previously held panels on automation tools (Ansible, Nornir, Napalm, etc) and automation programming languages (Go, Python, Rust). This time we will have a panel comparing and contrasting the two open source tools that are heavily used as Network Source of Truth (NSoT) solutions: NetBox & NautoBot, as well as the new kid on the block which is also open source: Infrahub.

NOTE: Just Like all previous showdown panels this is not a true "showdown" but a panel to help compare, contrast and educate attendees about the options out there available and their pros and cons.
